This is something I have been passionate about for a long time.
Most charities or foundations are set up as tax havens for the wealthy to give their friends cushy jobs that around about image. It is certainly not about donating money to help people.
Most charities donate less than 4% a year. Preferring to sit on hundreds of millions of dollars, taking fat salaries, having lavish parties, greasing the hands of politicians, trading off of their "charity" status, and avoiding paying taxes.
I am all for charities that really put their money to work. I don't mind someone taking a big salary as long as they are doling out equal sums to improve communities and lives.
I stopped giving to these charities long ago. They are simply another graft game of the rich to avoid paying their fair share.
