I got fired from a job because they hired some guy like that. Very passive aggressive Napoleon type, "respect your elders" since he is 5 years older, "everybody here loves me because a customer thanked me", will gladly tell someone with a beer belly or skinny arms that they are too fat or too skinny "because he cares about health" but won't dare tell the VY Canis Majoris sized boss that he needs to lose weight, etc.

Started out as a decent guy, then he found out I didn't believe in flat earth and that I was younger than him but more liked by other employees, so he became more and more passive aggressive. It didn't help that our department manager got mad at me so he put me on a graveyard shift and allowed this guy to make up whatever he wanted to about me and I would get in trouble for it. Guy thought I was nuts because while he was talking about how literal the Bible needs to be taken and flat earth etc, I suggested that civilization in the time of Noah might have looked similar to ours (basically flat earth exists and DNA isn't real = not nutty, Noah was real but the story is little bit off = nutty)

To give anyone an idea of this guy, when we were sitting around talking about military stuff and experiences, the only thing this dude said he enjoyed was about how he used to look for the rank on people's uniform and, if they were a lower rank than him, he would chew them out and make them do pushups for no good reason. The way he kept saying 'his drill sergeant buddies' made me ask if he was a drill sergeant, "nah, private first class". A real winner.

I finally got fired because the lies this dude kept telling built up and I wasn't really allowed to fight against them (I also got written up for clocking in too early when my time clock showed me clocking in a minute or two early, and got a final warning for clocking in seconds too late or a couple of minutes, there is usually a queue for the clock), especially not against a stubborn old man who didn't like me but loved faux drill sergeant Napoleon. It also didn't help that I, like the other employees, didn't throw a parade everytime the same sweet old lady comes in and thanks us when she leaves, but guess who did?

Hopefully part of the great awakening will be an end to this kind of shitty business running, but unless there is a huge spiritual shift or every single big business collapses then I don't see it happening. What I would give to be a fly on the wall of VY Canis Majoris's office when Napoleon finally decides that since he is literally the best employee ever, he should deserve $30 an hour. I imagine it's similar to what Patriots in our government see, that the whole ladder is completely rotten and deserves to crumble so long as the Patriots get to build a new one without any of the old rungs.
