Sigil magic. The "show it before you do it" has nothing to do with karma, dark magic cares nothing about that. Sigil magic is what they are practicing when they do this. It is a "lesser" magic, as opposed to the "working" magic they perform ( blood sacrifice of animals be and humans (most powerful being children).
