I've looked for a good explanation of the shortages, but really haven't found one satisfactory. Currently nurses are getting sign-on bonuses of $10k, $15k, or more. We are short 80k truck drivers. Fed Ex will be hiring tens of thousands during the Christmas season. National Guard is driving school buses or schools just cut out bus routes. McDs is paying big bucks and still can't get staff, as well as most other restaurants, etc. Can all of these staff shortages be explained by people who don't want to get the s#ot? If not, what else explains it?

🙋♀️ School bus driver here...left one district over the jab already, will leave this one too and fo to a private co if it comes down to it. Yes they are leaving or changing over to other smaller companies to ride this thing out. It's the hill we die on. CDL is gold...
Very low paying gold
Not where I drive. I make a very nice living! I love my kids, get great health benefits for under $50.00 a month that cover everything @100%, + dental and vision. Tons of paid holidays and a work schedule that gives me flexibility during each day.
The real gold in this job is the kids though....they are our future and I get to spend lots of time interacting in such a positive way with all 100 of them I drive daily. As a former social worker and foster parent, being a constant in these uncertain times, gives a lot of kids comfort. Can't put a price on some things. Gods work pays differently fren.
Blessings that you realize giving of the heart and soul to others is priceless...
