I live near a wide river. When I go to the waterfront, many times there are hundreds of seagulls sitting along the edge of a large boat shed. They also sit on the handrail for the boardwalk.
I would love that or I would love to live near the Great lakes but I know they get even colder than where I am in Winter because of the lake effect. I just absolutely love lighthouses
You should move here to eastern NC. We have a number of lighthouses, including one of the best known in the country, Cape Hatteras.
It's also not too bad here in the winter. Some years, we don't have a bit of snow. Every few years we'll have a big snow, 6 or 8 inches. The good thing is that if it snows here, it's gone in a few days.
Signs are pointing to a cold winter, although the National Weather Service claims we're going to have a warmer than usual winter. I guess they're still pushing the global warming stuff against all evidence.
