The church I left just added a gay, gender studies graduate, “he/him” (how he greets people) piano, music and worship leader who chooses songs by Adele to add Jesus lyrics to. and he’s black, which id say doesn’t matter but in the context of this post my church is all white, roughly 65 is the average age, and about 70% conservative leaning in my opinion. The leadership they have is woke and trying to mesh with the times. In my town of roughly 12,000 people they had a BLM thing in our town square last year and of course this person was there, guilting church members to be there as well. I did complain but I left due to poor leadership and currently on the journey for a new church home.
Let me guess…. Lutheran or Presbyterian? .
I grew up Lutheran my whole life, moved around the last 5 years, this church was actually a disciples of Christ. Very similar orthodox and environment (IMO) but started turning woke when a few leaders and elders passed or moved away and new ones came into the role.
I’ve come to find that the Full-Gospel churches (Pentecostals) are the ones standing in biblical truth and don’t live in fear. No masks, no rowed off seats or pews, anti vaccines. No fear.
Very insightful. There’s a few around me I’ll have to consider visiting!
Join the wandering Christian Club fren. Nearly all the churches where I live are woke. My daughter took her children to an ELCA (Lutheran) church, but it wasn't the church she remembered from her childhood. So woke, she never went back.
What state? I know quite a few good bible-strong churches in the US. Churches with pastors who have testicles.
When youth group leader on her email to my daughter had pronouns "she her", I stopped insisting my daughter participate.
