I appreciate how articulate he is, and his passion for truth. But, he lost me when he explained that he doesn't care if Jesus was a real person, or not, and when he simply describes Jesus as an allegorical figure. What that would mean, then, is that the blood sacrifice that Jesus made for us is not real, and that we have not been saved. Well... sorry... but I choose to believe that Jesus is God and sacrificed himself to defeat Satan in the spiritual war, and His blood covenant triumphed--which is why we say we have already won. But, we must choose to believe this, and we must choose to behave accordingly.
His point about being a fake-Christian is well-taken, and there are many. But to go so far as to say that Jesus is an allegory is putting Man and Ego right back up at the top of the food chain where Lucifer wants us to think we are.
This is EXACTLY right. Without the literal existence of Jesus, there is no Christianity. Jesus is not a philosopher who came with a set of theological or socio-ethical principles to discuss--as C.S. Lewis notes in Mere Christianity: he is either the Son of the Living God and part of the Trinity or he was a madman and Christianity is predicated on a lie. It's amazing to see someone preach about false Christianity while propagandizing false Christianity.

No, I mean are you provided with guarantees? Safeties?
I have blessed assurance--the greatest gurantee possible. But there is no safety for any of us, and I'm not looking for any.
