If there is no law officers to enforce it, you can drive how you like. My father drove for many years back in the 40s without a license. He didn't want to drive a long distance just to get permission for something he could do without permission, as there was no law enforcement around.
My county doesn't charge property tax for old people who only get SS. You need to research which counties in the US have that policy.
We technically own nothing if we have to pay taxes in order to keep what we think that we own.
Think about it:
Got a car? Can't drive it without insurance or annual registration, inspections, etc.
Own property? Quit paying your taxes and see how quickly you lose it.
