I'm just throwing this out there: the "shortage" of CDL truck drivers is a manufactured crisis that will be "solved" by self driving trucks.

In ~20 years time, there will no longer be a trucking job held by a human.

If so, and I do recognize the effort toward this, it cannot be safely done. This will put us square in line with the vision cast in the movie 'Idiocracy'.
