I am now beginning to wonder if the republican states like Texas will secede if things don't improve soon. There was an article on TownHall about Senator Cruz talking about the prospect of Texas seceding if the democrats further destroy the United States.

Considering all the federal handouts (grants, contracts, one offs like COVID) given to states, I can't see any state seceding anytime soon.
