My youngest was considered an outspoken conservative in college. Not because she was outspoken, but because she was grounded in her faith and has a conservative viewpoint. She's quite adorable, and that kept her out of trouble most of the time. But she had a couple professors who hated her, and dropped her a grade or three to prove it. She got one of the grades changed by going to the dean and pointing out that something wasn't right. Being a straight A student in every other course (some much more difficult), made it a very compelling argument.
The indoctrination was bad in the 1990s when I attended college, but I presume it's gotten progressively worse over time.
There were no campus safe spaces, as an example.
