So far I've literally only read win after win. Deep in my unconscious there's an emergent respect for and trust in courts and judges and laws.

It is speculated that the prosecutor was trying to get a mistrial without prejudice, so that he can retry the case. He would have advantage of getting a new judge, but also would know the defenses strategy.
