There is no gun. That is the FUD put upon them by the MSM and their gullible idiotic community. They are taking the path of least resistance and that is all. If you are damned either way (something I generally agree with) why would you take the 'easy route' that can have lasting permanent damage rather than the 'hard route' that allows you to fight another day? Your kid will hate you for making him a social outcast and being poor in the short term while you look for more acceptable employment. Then they grow up and realize the hard choices you made to safeguard them even if it meant losing their love and compassion in the short term. Those bridges can be rebuilt after the kids burns them. Hearts on the other hand....
