Veritasium did a crazy video about how the Zodiac Killer was identified via those ancestry companies. Not because he did the test, but because enough of his relatives did that they could track him via something like 80 family members converging to 5 candidates.

It's not enough to abstain, you have to keep your whole family away from them.
