I have read all Sherlock Holmes as well as Agatha Christie's books...classic. I love to travel with audio books but don't do too much traveling as of late. Monk is a funny detective because his OCD is so over the top...almost like a comedy detective story...I find him endearing...well portrayed. I usually don't ever read a book twice. I am a big fan of Ken Follett and one of my very very favorites is Pillars of the Earth...big historical fiction fan. Dean Koontz was someone whose books I also read and enjoyed...they have such great insight into all things weird. I have also enjoyed Amy Tan, Pearl Buck and some other authors that write about China or Chinese people. Reading is one of the greatest blessings we possess. I am somewhat OCD like Monk...I read packaging, directions, obituaries...anything and everything. I also count ceiling tiles, figure out savings, calculate all kinds of things constantly...love sudoku for numbers that make sense. Yep, living is pretty fascinating and tiring because there is so much to read and calculate. Very much like the mathematician in The Little Prince. By the way what is VNC...I am pretty archaic.
I love Sherlock Holmes too, and especially them read by this guy who I see as the authentic Holmes voice. He's better than even Jeremy Brent who did the PBS Holmes shows.
