I think the issue is that there's still too many retarded neighbours who believe otherwise, democracy is about persuading the retards of a course of action, less so just doing the right thing, or rather, getting most people to sign off on something in a democracy becomes "The right thing", somehow, I forget exactly the rules of this retarded system.
