Trump has been adamant about our sacred right to choose for ourselves. And while it may be upsetting that he still "shills for the vax" remember, both God and Satan "shilled" for the fruit. God, instead of putting the tree in the farthest reaches of the Universe, put it front and center, said "don't touch the knowledge fruit or you'll die." He didn't put a barrier in front of it, He didn't make it hard to reach. He simply said "no touchy". And if course we know Satan's opinion.
Now don't misunderstand. This allegory isn't perfect. Trump is by no means God. If anything in this comparison he is fulfilling both roles simultaneously which is appropriate since humans are capable of both good and evil.
Trump has been touting the vaccine, but also the importance of choice. That same choice Adam and Eve had. My personal feelings about the "Fall" aside, that story emphasises the importance of personal choice. People have to make that choice and if they were deceived by Serpent Media, again that is their choice. As the Bible story points out, the snake was punished, but that didn't absolve the sins.
All we can do at this point is hope and pray for the best and make our own decisions for ourselves. Yeah it sucks family members have chosen poorly, but that is not our cross to bear. At this point we have to cherish the remaining time we have and continue on with our lives.
I'll probably get flak for this, but that analogy doesn't work. It's more like Adam saw Satan poisoning the apples in the tree, Eve doesn't want to offend anyone so pretends not to notice, and God tells them "I created all good things. Look it's your choice, but I ate one."
"The analogy isn't perfect"
But a perfect analogy is not the point. The point is the importance of choice. Your input is appropriate and no less correct.
