About a week ago, I made a post explaining how I might've had COVID. Since then, I have recovered from my symptoms and currently am back to feeling fantastic. However, my sense of smell is extremely weak. I'm still not diagnosed with COVID, however I think it is nearly definite with the amount of people in my friend group that are currently sick.
So, I am wondering, what can I do to get my smell back and should I get tested?
When my wife had COVID in Mar 2020, the only reason we knew it was COVID vs a mild 3-day cold, was a complete and total loss of smell without any nasal congestion as that was such a unique symptom, found in early reporting. This lasted 2 weeks before her sense of smell started to return. It was about 8 months before her smell was normal. Her biggest complaint was that farts smelled like chickpeas, which I guess isn't a bad thing. Certain foods tasted funny as well.
