The US Navy ordered a safety stand-down for the entire submarine force on Wednesday in response to the results of an investigation into an incident last month in the South China Sea.

I would not put it past chyna to place navigational hazards, then bait a USN to chase a Chicom sub, the sub doing a crazy Ivan, & voila, the US sub hits the hazard. But, how does a 3Bn sub not have something passive to assist it not walking into an open door at night?
