The Armed Forces UNION in Austria supports anti-covid, not the entire army. A Union in Europe is not necessarily like unions in the US. This one seems to be more like a professional association, and I couldn’t find out how many members it has, which would be important for estimating its influence.

Yea, each political party here in Austria has a union for military and police. So there are multiple unions and only the FPÖ ones who opposes the current lockdowns called for support. Its really strange but thats how it is here. So its sadly not that big of a deal yet but a good sign though!
