Often enough occult type code uses Strong's concordance. 19 = slaughter.

See the slaughter of the sheep. Watch the sheep get slaughtered. Etc.

Edit: There is also a lot of homophonic transcriptions used in spoken/written language. Hence a deliberately corrupted use of court recordings could mean something completely different depending on who transcribes it.

not = knot = naught, c = see = sea

Add in multiple meanings for each spelling of a word and what you think they said may be something else entirely, or vice versa.
