Someone asked me to make a thread on this so here it is:
I believe some very good Patriots (like MTG and Kyle, whom I respect) are being fed some bad information.
Here is the info you aren’t hearing:
Wood didn’t keep Kyle in jail, his criminal attorney did. Wood’s foundation FightBack bailed him out as soon as they raised the $2 million bail amount. I was following it, and I even donated to it. Here is a write up about it from that time (with photos) https://nowmynews.blogspot.com/2020/11/kenosha-shooter-kyle-rittenhouse-17.html
Here is Michelle Malkin with Wendy Rittenhouse giving a shoutout to FightBack (and Wood) for raising the money. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8775511/Kyle-Rittenhouses-mother-receives-standing-ovation-GOP-event-Wisconsin.html
Here is Wood’s description of what happened https://t.me/s/linwoodspeakstruth as well as interviews (scroll up to the picture of Lindell for the whole account)
Attorney Robert Barnes (who is no fan of Wood) confirms Wood’s foundation raised the money to bail out Kyle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R2wV6zqPDo Lindell donated $50k to the foundation, Ricky Schroeder donated the funds to the same foundation that helped the, reach the $2 million
Here is Wendy Roger’s defense of Wood https://media.gettr.com/group19/origin/2021/11/23/05/c5002c15-a7ae-d143-2609-06f890f61079/93a6363511990be303b52f34019ab153_500x0.jpeg
The money was for bail, when bail money is returned it should go back to the entity that posted it. In this case, it should go back to FightBack. The foundation funds other legal cases too, especially election-related cases.
There was another fundraiser people are linking to Wood, that is NOT Wood’s, that has raised over $600k for the Rittenhouses (I don’t know whose it is): https://www.givesendgo.com/GUCZ
I don’t know why this concept is so foreign to people.
People think when they donate to a cause it gets used the way they think it will get used. All you have to do is look at Red Cross, United Way, ASPCA and other large outfits that beg for money to see that doesn't happen, but that concept eludes people, too. I'm a huge animal lover, but I won't donate to the ASPCA because they use some of those donations to lobby with federal and state governments for things I don't agree with.
I think, in the case of Fightback, people didn't understand the foundation's original intent, nor what Lin Wood was really doing in terms of getting Kyle out of jail, and that all a lot of them saw was 'donating to help Kyle'. There have also been a lot of kneejerk reactions based on Kyle's statement and a definite lack of research into what actually went on. And the fallout from this situation is a classic case of 'no good deed goes unpunished'.
I donated and it was clear it was for Kyle’s bail
