Not true about the carbs. I had a tiny bite or two of mashed potatoes, make my dressing with two times more vegetables than bread and I still turn into a turkey zombie. I make my own cranberry sauce so I can use stevia and cut the sugar, same with pumpkin pie. The joys of diabetes. I didn't make some of the other Thanksgiving traditions like corn pudding, sweet potato casserole and fried apples but would have also made them with stevia.
Do you all like country ham? Or city ham?
Country ham is salty. I like a little with eggs for breakfast.
What we had for dinner was a spiral cut smoked ham. We baked it and then added the glaze that came with it.
Oooooo. Sounds good. Kites Hams in Wolftown VA makes a low salt country ham. Uses his grandfather's recipe. Both that and their regular country ham are the best I've ever eaten.

I'll save that site. Wolftown sounds like a good place to live, although it's pretty far north. Some of my ancestors came from Culpeper, Goochland, and Fluvanna Counties.
It wouldn't be far from Culpeper, a little south and west of it. Do you know where Madison is? It's very close to Madison. They do mail order, and if you order a ham be sure to order some ham pieces, which are very cheap and good for making beans or soup. The bacon is good too. I've ordered from them for us and for Christmas presents. They were a bit cheaper than some of the other mail order ham places.
