Question…. Has the Covid molecule or whatever been isolated? How can we determine the “new variants” if the original has never been isolated?

I can not find any information that answers these questions? Can you point me to credible sources for answers?

I agree with you. I thought it might be influenza or a cold, but I got covid. It was very different. It was not bad for me. I lost my smell and taste completely, though. I had sinus pain, but no nasal stuffiness whatsoever. I had to work at getting my senses back by sniffing very strongly scented stuff like essential oils, for weeks.
