Why is something that obviously should well be evolutionarily wiped out (if it is indeed due to genes/people can't help it) not, by now?
(Corollary question if you say "there is no evolution, it's intelligent design" - ok then what the heck purpose would homosexuality serve in this design? Honest question, I'm not being a smartass.)
Edit - PS you know you're over some kind of target if an OP gets downpoots.
There is sin in the world. People choose to sin in all kinds of ways. In the Bible in 1 Cor 6:9-11 there are many sins listed that people commit that will keep them out of heaven. But verse 11 shows the mercy of God. The people in the Corinthian church had been guilty of the sins mentioned in verses 9 and 10, but in verse 11 it says they were washed, they were sanctified, and they were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of out God. See Below. Anyone can be saved from their sins by confessing to God that they have sinned and then by repenting of those sins. Repenting means to stop doing those sins, to turn away from sin, and turn toward God.
I Cor 6:9-11 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
So if I get drunk (drunkards) and/or play with with my wife's asshole (sodomy) I don't get to inherit the kingdom of God? To be clear, I would not be asking for forgiveness in either case because I don't do either to excess.
Being a drunkard is dif than getting drunk. Also, drunk can be a matter of perspective. 🤷🏻♀️
As far as anal sex between husband and wife…I actually wondered about the same kind of thing myself. I grew up in a home that had a very unhealthy view of sex. I went in search of answers. The Bible says a lot about sex believe it or not. The Song of Solomon is a great example. The entire thing is about sex between a husband and wife and it didn’t mean a picnic in the woods when it said “he Feeds among the lillies.” From what I understand in my searches, sex being good was a gift from God to the husband and wife. God wanted us to enjoy each other (husband and wife) so we would be close and become one. It’s SUPPOSE to be about more than just procreation. When it boiled down to it, if a husband and wife enjoy a little anal and it adds to their closeness and enjoyment of each other, it’s all good. Sodomy in the sinful sense, is where a man has anal sex with another man. As long as it’s not involving bringing other people into it then it’s fine. That’s the way I understand it anyway.
