I watched this twice yesterday. "The True History of the 20th Century, Part 1"
link in the comments. (The second part is scheduled for tomorrow evening)
It is hard to swallow that the Holocaust was different than we thought. I recall my visit to Dachau just outside of Munich like it was yesterday. I will never forget that very sad day. May God bless and keep all those who were mistreated from the beginning of time and forevermore.
We are admonished NOT to start turning on our friends, or neighbors, or each other. Everyone has a price. Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife, Jacob was a trickster and a conman, Isaac may not have been the firstborn to Abraham, but God does keep His promises. It's not who WE are - it's who HE is. We are all worthy of justice, but HE gives us mercy. I just believe that nothing has caught HIM off guard, and HE can do what HE wants - and He could have already called us home.. I think HE is allowing us to see the show - so, let humbleness and humility guide us all.
My family owned slaves, I cannot change that, and I was not here back then. I am not ashamed of something I did not have any control over.
Im with you, we need to stick together however im stuck, luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
That one scripture used to confuse me too. What I take away from it is that we are to love Christ Jesus so much that our love for our earthly family would pale so much in comparison, it would almost be closer to hate. Maybe that isn't how it really is meant, but I liked it all these years. Love can be so strong that it hurts.
