And this is why I believe the commandment of "honor thy mother and thy father" shouldn't be absolute. Pray for this kid. If half of what we found out about the clotshot is true, he'll have all the valid reasons to deeply hate and despise his mother in the future.

Honor they father and mother doesn’t mean obey them. It means act/behave in a manner than brings honor to your family. otherwise the commandment could have you following your parents away from God
