This is the correct question to ask: “ if the OmicronVariant is highly contagious, but mild as first indicated, a better policy would be to forget a vaccine, let it run its course while protecting the vulnerable with therapeutics to reach natural herd immunity.”

yeah but considering the original strain was already very mild overall it's probably safe to assume that the omicron variant, assuming it's even real, is at worst as bad as the first strain. viruses don't mutate to become more severe, they mutate to become less severe.
"Mild" varies greatly from person to person.
when I say the first strain is mild I mean that the vast majority of cases are like a bad cold at worst.
Sure, but that's like saying heart attacks are mild. Sure most of them aren't a big deal and people easily recover, but some heart attacks are very fatal.
Getting attacked by a dog is mild. Most dog attacks don't even require stitches. But, every year a bunch of kids and elderly people die from dog attacks.
you seem to think I'm saying people aren't dying from it. I never said or implied this, I'm just stating that a significant majority of cases are nothing serious at all. add that onto the fact that viruses mutate to become less severe and there's no reason to expect the omicron variant to be any real problem, if it's even real in the first place.
