When people talk about "science" they have all kinds of lofty and complicated notions. I like to dispel the nonsense by pointing out that science is nothing other than the scrupulous observation of commandments 3 or 9: "Thou shalt not bear false witness." Without this, there is no science whatsoever, since science is the long-term accumulation of wisdom about the world, and this wisdom cannot be depended on if it is false in any part.
