Well i do agree and the founder of Skycoin would agree that the computer world is kinda fucked with backdoors which is why they use Linux to minimize such things he talks a lot about this and how they are going to combat it which a lot of it is above my understanding, he is a really smart guy and they have spent the last 10 years figuring out all this stuff.

Skywire mesh runs mostly on SBC's like raspberry pi's or orange pi's although can run on anything but mostly linux, they are also building their own custom hardware to control what is in them and also to produce a low cost Skywire node that can be used by anyone. They are also plans for custom hardware phones, laptops and they have their own hardware wallet with a new and improved version coming soon. Although the chip shortage is causing problems with that, but they have plans to have there own chip manufacturing too.

Also Skywire is designed to be a complete replacement for the current internet but will run over any network, the idea being keeping all data within the Skywire network and mirroring the data outside the network so in the future it would be possible to run your own decentralized youtube/twitter/website etc due to the way the network can mirror data a bit like bit torrent but better and faster they called it CXO. I also seem to remember them saying that they could run the Skywire code in such a way that the hardware hosting could not see the data or something like that again above my understanding.

I see it as a start in the war to getting your data back under your control and like using Linux is a bit better for that kind of thing.

I think you would like the project and they can explain things better than i can but i think we can all agree that the current internet is fucked with everything spying on everyone.
