At what point did any drug company want you to take only 1 dose of their medicine?
They’re in it for the long haul, baby. The day my Adobe software (that used to be installed at my leisure when I wanted the updated version) went to monthly subscription, I realized nearly everything would go to subscription. Now they want our immune systems on their subscription service—constant cash flow, a degrading product that needs constant tweaks and upgrades—and control over our bodily autonomy so we can’t opt out.
If all you’re using Adobe for is Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign then check out Affinity. They make stuff that’s 100% compatible with Adobe and it has the exact same features. Only difference is that Affinity products are about $50 each and then you own them forever.
It’s annoying to hunt out alternatives but I can count the amount of subscription shit I pay for on one hand.

It’s the perfect evil master plan.
Ugggh…similar experience here with the Adobe nonsense. Can’t even own damn software. But we’ll own nothing and be happy, right?

I have CS6 installed in a VM I've removed the Internet connection from. All I need.
Great tip! Thanks, Fren. Checking it out.
