33 Clark Griswold: Long Live the King of White, Male, Christmas Patriarchy.... Hollywood doesn’t make happy, cheerful Christmas movies anymore because it sees nothing to celebrate—not the holiday, not the culture, certainly not the family. They just don’t make movies like they used to. I’ve been saying this for a while now. It’s like the magic of adventure went right out of Hollywood.
The Never-Ending Story
Labyrinth
Back to the Future
Nightmare before Christmas
Tim Burton’s Batman/Joker (Keaton/Nicholson)
The Dark Crystal
Wizard of Oz
It’s a Wonderful Life
Any of the “Thin Mans”
Any of the “Charlie Chan’s”
Gremlins (#1 son of Charlie Chan played the shopkeeper where the father picks up Gizmo!)
Adventures in Babysitting
Robocop
Short Circuit
Willow
Goonies
Breakfast Club

Where did all that writing go? When did it go? I had a happy, non-brainwashed movie childhood with these films cheesy as they might be in retrospect.
