My 14 year old is being charged as an adult and with a hate crime for tearing down a rainbow flag off of a business.
In California they will try to lock him up and throw away the key.
But they allow people to burn the USA flag.
The people in this country are allowed to tear down statues of what some people would consider war heroes and presidents.
They allow people like Jessie smal-dick To commit the ultimate hate crime And my guess is nothing will happen to him even being found guilty of 5 of 6 charges.
Yup. We're in enemy territory here. Get an attorney, interview multiple attorneys to get one you value. The whole "charge as an adult" is bogus. It will take money, but they should be able to reduce it to juvenile, minor vandalism, and a light sentence of community service. Sorry about the situation. It's awful. Prayers.
A good attorney will be able to do better than that as much as I hate to say it he has an 80 IQ which is considered borderline. When you commit a crime you have to understand The punishment for the crime and what you're doing and why it's wrong at his age with his IQ There's no way he understood the punishment for the crime to him he was just playing a practical joke.
