I have family from the Shetland Islands on my mom’s side, but not my dad’s that I am aware of at least.

My dad's clan are from the north coast of Scotland.

And my mother's side is from in the general area of your father's. :)

I could show the right-side picture of your dad to my siblings and they would say, "It looks like Dad has a mustache in that picture."
