I have noticed skies on east coast where I am have been really clear like as clear as I could ever remember at night I can see the stars better than usual. So I would hypothesize that because the weather pattern goes west to east all the weather events dumped on Kentucky and surrounding states and then left air dry which was clear on east coast.
