We have tons and tons of seats that are filled by people who don't even really get elected because they essentially run unopposed. F*** it why not. Run for governor, run for state senate, run for your city council, run for school board. We just had a guy win one of the most powerful positions in his State on a budget of like $200 for campaign funds. There's no reason not to. This is how you get into the fight, you overwhelm the system with a tide of fresh blood. If you're reading this, then you should also be looking at your local elections to see what seats are going to be contested, and then you should be running for those seats.

This is something I cannot do.
I have the charisma of fingernails over chalkboard, am not a people person that can schmooze, am very introverted, am unable to digest pages and pages of law, and will not compromise basic principles just to "get along" with RINOs or leftists. I am surrounded by them.
That also rules out vote canvassing.
I briefly considered inquiring about a delegate slot but was warned being a delegate is "a ton of work." I'd basically have to vet political candidates which means I have to research voting history, check them out on social media, etc.
What I am doing is reserving my energy for a petition drive here in Utah. That I might be able to manage. In the meantime, trying to study up on election crime.
I was out there years and years ago protesting this and that. Nobody cared. Loss of civil rights just did not play to the crowd well at the time. I put a lot of energy into those issues. Energy I just no longer have.
Yes but hello I'm running for...... fill in the blank and I'm not a politician I'm a patriot. It sounds a ton more refreshing than some asshole shaking hands and kissing babies like a politician knowing he'll lie to get elected then screw the state once he does. I'd rather have an introvert any day that stays true to their oath of office.
Salt Lake City = Zombieland. We are surrounded by leftists and Romney / Cox supporters in our neighborhood. To the leftists, patriot = violent right wing terrorist. To the RINOs, we are disgusting.
There was a huge FUCK TRUMP sign about 2 blocks away from us right up to the 2020 election.
Nearest Trump sign I knew about was at a house near a park about a mile away from us. Turns out that man who lives there is his precinct's leader. He just ran for our city council district and came in last, though he did almost nothing in the way of a campaign. A woman I suspect is a Commie won. She conducted a very energetic campaign.
During our summer dog walks my husband and I have devoted a lot of time to scraping Hammer City (Communist party) posters off utility poles.
Even if I could stomach the campaign process and had the mental endurance for it, I would not have a chance. I HATE IDIOTS and cannot talk to them.
My own precinct leader lives a block away from me. His wife is a Sister in the LDS church but he has NO INTERNET PROFILE AT ALL.
It's bad here. Really bad. Utah is NOT a red state, it is very purple.
I get it's frustrating. I contacted our Cindy Hyde whatever her name is on a second amendment issue right after a list of names were posted on those who voted for gun confiscation. I received an automated...we will fight for your second amendment rights all the way message in return. I read earlier in this post or i don't even remember about local offices going uncontested. It's a small step but it's a step. We want answers and we're frustrated beyond belief.
