I’m fairly new to this site and am still learning a lot. I would love to hear advice from you all! What are you preparing for (food shortages, power outages, growing your own food, purchasing a generator, etc)? How are you preparing? Why do you feel the need to do so?
I’m not interested in doom and gloom but a real response on what people are concerned could happen and how you are preparing. Thank you!
I prep the same every year. Live in a pretty remote part of Canada. So this is business as usual for me.
We usually have about a years worth of frozen stuff (meat, cheeses, etc.
A years worth of canned stuff and a years worth of dry stuff.
I keeps some seeds from my garden and order new ones every year so I can start them in spring. Reseed all my left over potatoes.
I have a generator and fuel for about a month but we heat and cook with wood mostly so electric is just a luxury we can live without. I have enough firewood for this winter and next. I harvest 5-10 cords usually during winter for next year and such.
I wish I had more kerosene and candles right now and it’s on the shopping list.
I hoard ammo since that can get hard to come by (reloading supplies too)… that’s one thing that if I run out of we’d likely be screwed although I do own a few bows.
Sounds like you are set up very well!! Good for you! Thank you so much for sharing! I really appreciate hearing your input!!
