I realized it was a lie a few years ago when I learned that questioning it lands Europeans either prison or heavy fines.

Truth does not fear scrutiny.

Truth is strengthened by scrutiny.

Unfortunately, this is a very difficult pill for even the best of us to swallow. I think we're getting there, though.
