I know this kind of feeling, My dad said he predicted the delta and omicron variant because not enough people are getting shots and he totally didn't get that from the media, by the way he isn't getting brainwashed because he cross references the newspaper AND the radio.

And you need to remind him things were different when every radio station and newspaper was owned by a different person. Now the same people who own the newspapers own the radio and television stations and are sponsored by Pfizer.
