I've noticed that as well, but I think there is a reasonable explanation. He definitely likes to throw in popular q phrases here and there, and his commercials are obviously spliced in indiscriminately. He has had several years to cement his style as a podcaster and at this point I think he just is fully in the zone and sounds super rehearsed. I also wouldn't be surprised if he stealth edits his episodes at times, like if he fumbles a line or something, or perhaps he has a filter that automatically removes dead air or awkwardly long pauses. The show isn't live and modern tools make that sort of editing really easy.
