The security guard hollered out as we approached the front door "Make sure to put on your mask before entering... Welcome to Commie California!" No shit I thought to myself! Busted out laughing! Totally made my day.

When I get that going into someplace, I smile, wave real friendly and say "Hi!" or "No thank you" depending on what they say. I then walk in. If I get further harassment I explain how the mask reduces my oxygen intake and I have difficulty breathing with the mask on. I make it clear that I don't want to pass out. This usually causes confusion, but I have yet to have anyone say anything about it.
Using a mask to protect against a virus is like standing behind a chain link fence to protect against a shotgun blast.
Exactly!!
If I were a surgeon I may or may not wear a mask. The mask is not to prevent the spread of bacteria, on the contrary, studies suggest that wearing a mask in surgery increases bacterial problems. More important to this discussion, the mask in surgery is definitely not to prevent the spread of viruses. The mask in surgery is designed (originally) to stop squirts of blood from getting into your mouth and nose. In such a case I would probably wear one if it were the type of surgery where that was a legitimate concern.
Having said that, the medical industry, top to bottom, including all of the PPE shit is mostly a fraud. I have had jobs where I had to use PPE. In some cases it is legitimate, in many cases it is a farce. Having used it, I know which situations are which. I used to play along with their PPE game, now I never will again. The entire industry is a fraud, even research (which is what I did).
Pretty sure your addressing me "whining" completely misses my point; that it is a useful thing to say to confuse people.
