That’s not how it works. If it’s Christmas Eve, you would say Christmas is two days away (today and tomorrow).
If it is Christmas Eve, in (American) English, you would say Christmas is in one day. You wouldn't count Christmas Eve as a day because it is already Christmas Eve.
