My dad, RIP, tried to teach a lesson to me. I did not get it until long after he had passed on.

Thanks. That is a great lesson. Yeah, I tend to take too much personally. I have withdrawn a lot in the past year and don’t engage much any more. I am a scrapper by nature so I have learned to sit on my hands and give it time when I want to jump in and duke it out.
