When our older son was 15, I asked our MD to check his chicken pox titer, as he had never had c-pox but had several exposures (and c-pox can have serious consequences if contracted when older). MD offered the vaccine instead. I held my ground because I was sure he must have had a sub-clinical case (no symptoms). I was right. His lab work showed that he was chicken pox immune!
