I thought the theory behind outlawing ephedrine etc. was because it can be used to make meth.

Not that this is the truth, but I know people DID use those pills to make meth

Yes. Not that I made it, but with ephedrine to start it is much easier. Also pseudephed. Kind of a shame for those who have a legitimate use.
