36 The Lord said to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then confront them with their detestable practices, 37 for they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them. 38 They have also done this to me: At that same time they defiled my sanctuary and desecrated my Sabbaths. 39 On the very day they sacrificed their children to their idols, they entered my sanctuary and desecrated it. That is what they did in my house.

I'm on my Nth read through the Bible, and for some reason, the viciousness of God toward Israel, in response to their sin, as recorded in the book of Ezekiel, hadn't stood out to me before. Perhaps it is because the evils of the U.S. stand out so prominently now that it didn't sink in before. I guess the verse about sacrificing children as food for their idols really hit me this time.
I'm not saying the U.S. hasn't been steeped in evil before now, it's just that it seems more obvious now than in the past, and with legalization of abortion in 1973, the evil is now legislated. To hear leftists claim there is a Constitutional right to an abortion is one of the most aggravating things they say.
He was speaking to Israel and Judah. He was comparing them to sexually immoral sisters. Notice how they both have the word HO in the names. So many women today delude themselves into believing that God is overlooking their sins and would never call them out on it. He is literally calling them hoes (whores). I’ve heard adulterous women say, God is good, he would never call me a hoe for what I do. They NEVER read their bibles.
I wouldn't say they are any more. Maybe in the past they were but I truly feel they have repented from there sins and turned to Jesus. He washed those sins away so who am I to judge
He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.
Not you, but ...
Yes he shall. God bless u
God Bless you too
