I personally prefer the method he incorporated on the Beagles...

...drug induced paralysis, vocal cord removal (although I could be convinced to leave his in just to hear his pain vocalized) and finally inserting his head into a box of hungry sand flies....(once again, I would be open to modification of this detail if another, more voracious insect variety could be located)
