It will still fall on deaf ears with those who refuse to perceive. But it may be a way to trap them into acknowledging the existence of the soul if they use that as a counter argument (no soul in that body yet...durr).
Often it's unwise to generalize, but I think it's safe to say your average pro-abortion person is totally immersed in the Material and has lost all true spiritual connection. (they may project some sort of spiritual facade, but it's worn like clothing.) This could be a slow-release red-pill if they have to wrestle with the soul question again, even if it drives them to the other side.
[I'm inclined to think God would prefer an enemy over a spiritual-less materialist...If a Righteous person is on the 'same page' as God, an enemy is at least in the same book/volume, the materialist isn't even in the library.]
