We vaccinated our first up until 4 years old, when - after suffering multiple seizures w/o seemingly any cause (2 were febrile, but the others were not) - I started doing my own research on vaccines. A great place to start is "Disolving Illusions", by Suzanne Humphries - I highly recommend it, as she goes through each vaccine in detail. Aside from the seizures, we noticed cognitive delays/declines in our daughter, and I still struggle with guilt for not having done my research earlier. Our other two have never (and will never) receive a vaccine, and they are both incredibly healthy thus far.
There is such a lack of safety studies, liability for pharmaceutical companies, and even education on the part of doctors/pediatricians (they admit that they only spend about 4 hours studying vaccinations in med school)... we really do need to each do our own research and decide what's best for our kids.
