Supplementing with magnesium and vitamin D3 and K2 helped with my back pain. There's lots research out there on this and most people are deficient in these vitamin/minerals.
If you take magnesium, you should take D3. When you take D3 you should take K2. These are often available in the same capsule. Throw a decent amount of vitamin C in the mix also because amongst other things, it helps D3 work.
